Hole #1
A friendly opening hole. The shorter hitter should try to avoid the fairway bunkers on the left. Often a 4 iron and a pitching wedge will do the job. The green should be approached from the right angle.
Hole #2
Aiming left of the fairway bunker makes sense on this hole; however, long tee shots often run through the fairway into trouble. When the tee markers are forward a three wood is a good selection.
Hole #3
Most golfers should treat this as a par 5. The back to front sloping green requires much thought.
Hole #4
A beautifully bunkered slightly elevated green graces this par 3. Shorter hitters might consider a 5 wood if the tee markers are back.
Hole #5
Playing this hole at its full length means the fairway bunker is out of reach for most players. A left to right second shot is the best option if the green is within range.
Hole #6
The key to the hole is keep out of danger with bunkers on both sides of the fairway. A long right to left tee shot is perfect for the scratch player wanting to reach the green in two shots. Handicap players need 3 wood, a 5 iron and a pitch shot approach and hope for two putts for a five. The green has severe slope back to front.
Hole #7
Excellent par 3 with left to right sloping green. Low handicap players must not be tempted when flag is positioned on right hand side of the green. Moderate hitters who allow for a slice do well here.
Hole #8
Long hitters find a very narrow landing area on the 8th, however the temptation is always there as the green is reachable in two shots.
Hole #9
Players capable of carrying the hill with their second shots enjoy a huge advantage on this hole. For many players four shots are needed. Fairway bunkers are severe on both sides.
Hole #10
The tee shot finishing left of centre is ideal. Avoid overclubbing when playing to this green which slopes from left to right and back to front.
Hole #11
A magnificent par four. At great risk the second shot can be shortened by driving down the right side of the fairway. Any downhill putt here requires thought.
Hole #12
At its full length this hole is best played as a par 5 by most golfers. From the forward markers in favourable conditions the fairway bunker can be carried reducing the hole to a wedge second.
Hole #13
At its full length this hole is best played as a par 5 by most golfers. The desirable shot from the tee is left of the fairway bunkers however, too much length can cause a blocked second shot. Make sure to stay to the left of the pin as all balls on the right of the pin tend to finish in the greenside bunkers.
Hole #14
Considered by many to be the most difficult hole on the course. Players missing the green seldom make par.
Hole #15
Surely one of the great short Par 4 holes. Many options from the tee whilst a driver hit right of the centre is perfect. A 3 or 4 iron tee shot often brings good results.
Hole #16
At its full length a 3 wood is often required here by all but the longest hitters. The front right of the green is the only safe place to miss this green.
Hole #17
A true 3-shot hole. The perfect line for the tee shot is just right of the fairway bunker and the second shot should also stay to the left side of the fairway to enable the third shot to the green for a par.
Hole #18
The Drive must be in the centre of the fairway to avoid fairway traps. Longer hitters can reach the green in two with the right hand side of the green providing the best line.
