‘Walk with The Rosellas’ on Sunday Afternoon

Posted on: 28 February

If you have been selected to represent VGC in an interclub competition such as: Bowls, Pennant, KHRYSP, Spring Match Play, Exchange Days, or other interclub competitions then we ask that you please give us a couple of hours of your time to ‘pay it forward’ to our ‘VGC younger sisters’ in their golf journey by being a Walker with them, one Sunday afternoon.

The Rosellas is a group of keen girls aged 15 years and under that have joined VGC to improve and enjoy golf, and make friends. By playing a regular nine holes, the girls gain a handicap and play a stableford competition each week. They play 9 holes of golf on select Sundays during the school term and require a VGC adult female member to walk with them to help with etiquette, scoring, rules etc. Sometimes a parent may accompany their daughter. Talented golfers such as Jesika Clark, Kono Matsumoto and Gabi Ruffels began their golf journey with the Rosellas. A number of our Rosellas go on to play in VGC Pennant Teams. So, it is important for us to support them and maintain VGC’s standing as a club dedicated to the development of girls’ golf.

WALKER ROLE:

  • Meet at the putting area at 3.00pm,
  • Find the girls you are walking with and introduce yourself,
  • Ensure the girls are on their tee at the correct time,
  • Walk with your group of 3 or 4,
  • Help them with etiquette, rules, scoring or tips you think might be helpful,
  • Generally, help them to feel they are part of the VGC sisterhood of fabulous golfing women you are renowned to be!

We require 2 walkers and 2 emergencies to put their names on the online timesheet.   If you are unable to attend on one of the days that you have chosen, please contact the emergency walker and organise your replacement.
