Duplicate Bridge & Monthly Social Duplicate Bridge

VGC Duplicate Bridge will take place each Wednesday morning, commencing at 9.30am sharp and concluding at 12.30pm.  The meetings will be directed by Graham Hill and cost $12 per session, which the club will charge to member accounts. Tea and coffee orders will be available from 10.30am.  Both male and female members are encouraged to participate. The Convenor is Suellen Mansour.

Monthly Social Duplicate Bridge takes place on the last Thursday of every month. It entails a morning session, lunch and an afternoon session, commencing at 11.00am sharp and concluding at approximately 3.00pm. Cost is $28. This activity is convened by Barbara Appel.

Mahjong

The Mahjong group meets each Wednesday afternoon at 1pm until around 3pm in the clubhouse lounge. In addition, on the second Thursday of each month the group meets at 5pm in the clubhouse lounge for Mahjong followed by dinner in the bar around 7pm.

VGC Book Club

The Book Club meets eight times a year on a Monday between 1.00 and 2.00pm followed by lunch for those able to stay.  Full details can be found below.

The Swans Independent Group

The SWANS Independent Group. SWANS stands for “Single, Widowed and Newly Separated”. This group arranges lunches, dinners, film outings, card & golfing events and has lots of fun.

The Social Committee

The Women’s Social Committee is a volunteer group of women members who work with the Women’s Committee and the Victoria Golf Club to ensure all women members (new, existing, playing and non-playing) feel a greater sense of connection to the Victoria Golf Club.

The Women’s Social Committee achieves this goal through community raising social events and fundraising events throughout the year.

Notices for all upcoming social events, together with booking forms, are displayed both in the women’s locker room and on the ‘Women’s Golf’ web page under the heading ‘Social Events’.  You can also be notified of social events via our What’s App group.

Throughout the year, the Women’s Social Committee organises raffles and fundraising events to financially support the Women’s Committee’s chosen charities which are:

• The Queen’s Fund
• Family Life
• Bayside Community Emergency Relief
• “One off” donations (from time to time)

The two main fundraising days of the year are Charity Golf Day, usually held in October; and Charity Card Day, usually held in June.

The Women’s Social Committee welcomes new ideas  and contacts of interest, for social events, and welcomes, with gratitude, donations for raffle prizes. We also welcome women interested in becoming a member of the Women’s Social Committee.
